KSC publishes 2020 DPRK stamp release program

General Philatelic News

The official (state) postal organization of North Korea, the Korea Stamp Corporation, has published the themes and dates for the 2020 stamp releases of the DPRK. The January and February releases on the list are already known of course, but many other themes were shown for the first time with the release of the list.

The program shows both the usual political messages (many commemorations this year) plus images of either production and food stuffs or history and sights of Korea. Note that often stamps which are not in the yearly publication schedule are released on a very short notice. One example is the set of stamps in a souvenir sheet titled “Centenary of Founding of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies” (KSC5223A) which was released all of a sudden in November 2019.

Here is the complete official program for 2020 (English version):

  1. Seeing the list of DPRK issues for 2020, makes me wonder how club members manage to get them in the USA? Anyone have a source to recommend? Thanks!
