The fake CORREE overprint

In KP Vol. XXXIX No. 4 (November 1993) Don Vorhis, KSS president at the time, wrote the following: “From a recent sale abroad, 3 Japanese Kiku, one Tazawa, 5 revenues with “CORREE” stamped on them. All are used, so the creator had to work to avoid the cancels. One example shown here.” That was in 1993. Imagine my surprise when I saw the same overprints recently on Ebay.
