An intriguing South Korean stationery postcard has recently emerged, raising questions about its authenticity and origin. The question at hand is whether the postcard is an official release by KoreaPost or if it has been privately modified.
The postcard features a floral stamp design with a face value of 345 won, with a pictorial postmark dated 3 March 2017, with a text showing the cancellation was created for a stamp exhibition in honour of a priest named Choi.

It is a genuine post card. Its English definition is Official Post Card on Private Order. You must have seen lots of post cards with private cachet with government’s approval including German postal stationeries during 1930s. However, the recently manufactured post cards are rather similar to the My Stamp which people can request the postal authority to print for their own use.
Are these the cards listed in KPSC under the heading “YAPC”, first issued 2003.7.1?
Or what else?
What is the catalog number for this particular 2017 issue in the current 2024 issued of KPSC.
And what was the issue date? I guess it was generic, so date only when the particular flower design was first issued, not for individual client request date like this 2017 one.
Hi Florian, do you have a copy of the 2024 KPSC? I didn’t even know that was issued for 2024. I do have a copy of the 2022-2023 KPSC. They call these “Customer Designed Postal Cards” . I believe the shown card above in this article is one of those listed as first issued in 2014.12.22, with the purple flowers, YAPC9 -YAPC9C. Bob
Hi Florian, here are the two pages from the 2024 edition of the “Catalogue of Korean Postage Stamp” (CKPS). Your card is listed as CDPC10, with a Forever “stamp” on it, issued in December 2014. Unfortunately the book can’t be scanned well (it won’t lie flat), so I had to take photos (also not ideal…).

The official title of this kind is CUSTOMER DESIGNED POSTAL CARD. The post card shown herewith was issued on 22nd December, 2014. In KPSC of the latest edition, this card is registered as YAPC9-9A-9B-9C, as you mentioned. Namely 4 sub-categorized items. As far as I know, the design of balloon flower is adopted only for the customer designed post cards.
Gentlemen. Just a simple information. Catalogue of Korean Postage Stamp” (CKPS) is published by the Philatelic Dealers Association of Korea. Unfortunately, because of downfall of philately, all the Korean catalogue publishers cannot print in an annual basis.
