The Korea 1990 Christmas and New Year/TB Seals

Seals

In 1990 the Korean National Tuberculosis Association (KNTA) seal program, for the first time ever, did not produce a large sheet of Christmas/TB seals for a year. Instead they released two souvenir  types of sheets with ten images on each of the two sheets.  However, one set of five images is on both of the small sheets, while five different seals were used that differed from one another on the two sheets. So there are actually  fifteen different images of the seals for 1990. The seals depict the preparations and procession of a traditional Korean wedding.

Fig 1. Above is shown a Korea 1990 Christmas/TB sheet that contains ten seals depicting preparations and procession of a traditional Korean wedding, KSPC TSC 248-257. The five seals in the top horizontal row are repeated on the other sheet, KSPC 258-267. The bottom horizontal row of five seals is unique to this sheet.

The 2022 Korea Postage Stamp Catalogue (KPSC) gives the catalogue numbers for the 1990 seals as TCS 248-257 and TCS 258-267, respectively, for the two small sheets. This would indicate that there are twenty different images, but five images are the same on each sheet, so the author does not understand the reasoning of the KPSC for assigning these numbers for the 1990 Christmas/TB seals. The KPSC values each small sheet at 8,000 won (US$6.00).
