Woopyo February 2026: Studies in Rates, Design, and Philatelic Practice

Catalogues and books

This issue of Woopyo brings together technical studies, long-running postal history series, and a substantial thematic report, framed by current organisational news and new-issue documentation. The result is a characteristically structured number in which method, material, and exhibiting practice receive equal attention.

The February issue of Woopyo (No. 721) opens with the customary “Publication Information / 발행 안내” from the Editorial Office, setting the framework for the material that follows. The first substantive contribution is the opinion piece “Butterfly Stamps Flying into the Sky / 나비 우표가 하늘을 날다” by Lee Geun-hu (이근후). Written as a personal reflection, it brings together memory, age, and technological imagination. The image of unbridled horses and a rain-spoiled butterfly performance leads to a meditation on the future of the postage stamp in an era shaped by artificial intelligence. The text remains deliberately speculative and establishes a calm, contemplative tone for the issue.
